I went to a Nail Inch Nails concert in the seventh grade and when they played "Hurt", a giant screen dropped down over Trent Reznor and projected time-lapse footage of decaying animals. That experience has always stuck with me and served as the inspiration for this edition of Broken Branches. There's something humbling about the process of decay that reminds us to enjoy the time we have.
